01 / THE PULSE - Nara, unseen.

Nara - Daian-ji / Fujifilm xt5
There is something inherently sacred about the morning silence in Nara’s temples. Away from the usual crowds, Daian-ji offered up this quiet scene: two small Daruma dolls tucked into a vast ocean of fallen ginkgo leaves.
It’s exactly this palette, that vibrant yellow clashing with the deep, bold red that I was looking to capture with my Fujifilm X-T5. For me, this image is a perfect metaphor for life here: the need to slow down, look at the ground, and find poetry in the textures of Japan.
These moments of exploration, away from the hustle and bustle, are a true breath of fresh air in an otherwise hectic daily routine. This is why Japan holds such a special place in my heart.
02 / THE BREW - Kissa Wakayama: my Modern HQ.

I’ve found my new headquarters in Kyoto. It’s a Kissa (traditional Japanese coffee house) Wakayama, and it’s a masterclass in slow living.
The space is run by a couple who have perfected the balance of craft: he handles the coffee with surgical precision, while she prepares incredible sandwiches and pastries in the back. Speaking of which, their banana bread is honestly to die for, the kind of treat that makes you forget your deadline for a moment.
The interior is stunning, but it’s the soundtrack that seals the deal. There’s something about the warmth of a vinyl record playing in a quiet neighborhood spot that makes you want to turn off your phone and just... exist. If you’re ever in Kyoto and need a spot to think (or just the best slice of banana bread and coffee in town), this is it.

03 / THE SPIN - Olivia Dean : Messy.

I finally tracked down the vinyl. If you haven't listened to Messy yet, it’s the perfect soundtrack for a slow Kyoto afternoon. Soulful, intimate, and beautifully produced. In a world of digital perfection, there’s something grounding about the slight crackle of a record while I’m editing video.
A special mention goes to the opening track, 'UFO'. This 'shy love song' is the perfect entry point into the album’s atmosphere. With its stripped-back acoustic guitar and Olivia’s raw, soulful vocals, it feels like a soft landing after a long day. It’s a track about vulnerability and finding a safe place in someone else a pure breath of fresh air that sets the mood for the entire record. If you’re spinning this on vinyl, the warmth of the production truly shines here
A must-spin for your weekend morning.
04 / THE THOUGHT - The "Ma" (間) of Productivity.

In Japan, Ma is the "space between." As a freelancer and CEO, I used to think every gap in my schedule had to be filled with "hustle." Lately, I’ve been learning that the empty spaces, the 15 minutes of staring at a wall in a coffee shop, the walk home without headphones are where the best ideas actually grow.
Don't just fill your day. Leave some space for the magic to happen.
That’s it for this week. I’m heading back behind the lens to capture a few more frames of this Kyoto spring. If you want to see these moments in motion, I’ve just posted a new cinematic vlog over on the channel.
